“I know that when we get stuck, sometimes we need help pivoting, and I provide my clients with the space and support to do so.”
As a therapist, I dive into my client’s experiences with a gentle approach that allows me to fully understand what has brought us to, and what has been happening in the present moment. If you find yourself working so hard that you feel disconnected from yourself, your achievements, or relationships that matter so much to you, I want you to know that it is possible to find connection again. Maybe you’re feeling burnt out, overwhelmed with grief, or new experiences, that make you feel stuck. I know that when we get stuck, sometimes we need help pivoting, and I provide my clients with the space and support to do so.
Much of my work focuses on helping my clients develop a new perspective that includes self-compassion and empowerment. My approach is collaborative meaning that we will work together to create trust, safety, and healing. I practice using Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques, which include understanding the functions of different parts of ourselves–even the ones we wish we could get rid of–and learning how to work with them. I also use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is all about understanding and developing language for the emotions underneath our actions. As a relational therapist, I value curiosity, empathy, as well as a touch of humor to create a safe therapeutic relationship that helps you feel encouraged to use the tools we practice in sessions outside of the therapy room.
All psychotherapy I administer comes from a social justice lens that is anti-racist, LGBTIA+ and gender-affirming, and allied towards those within non-monogamous/poly relationships.
Who I work with:
Individual Therapy
When I work with individuals, I am working with adults who are discovering that attachment trauma is causing pain or discomfort in the present. I am also drawn to supporting adults who are navigating all relationships whether that is with friends, family members, partners, or their relationship with themselves. My clients find that they reach new insights into, and take better care of themselves as a result of our work together. They also experience improved communication in their relationships and a sense of security.
Couples Therapy
As a couples therapist, I am working with people who are noticing that somewhere along the way they have become distant from one another and that’s creating loneliness in their relationship. Life happens! Career changes, children, and external stressors that have nothing to do with the relationship can take a toll on the relationship and I help couples reconnect through learning how to tend to the deeper needs of each partner. I also support couples who are committed to rebuilding their relationship after the discovery of a betrayal, and I am trained in supporting people through conscious uncoupling as well as developing a co-parenting relationship.
Healing takes time and patience, and I would be so happy to support you on this leg of your journey. Connect with me through the link below!
