“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
For 14 years, I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and families that have a history of struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction and substance abuse, infidelity, relationships, and major life transitions. As a trauma-informed therapist, when we work together, the hope is to learn and re-discover your innate ability to create what you want despite the cards life sometimes deals us.
I often approach my clients from a holistic perspective as I have found it difficult for many to define health other than to say it is “feeling good physically, mentally, and emotionally”. However, it is important to acknowledge that our bodies, minds, and emotions constantly process our changing experiences. How we handle these changes on all levels determines how healthy we are and can become.
Utilizing a variety of techniques (including Gottman Method Couples therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, stress management, increasing self-worth, inner child work, mind/body connection, 12 step work, mood management, anxiety reduction, empowerment, and work/life balance, etc.) we will work towards establishing adaptive skills and understanding to help change your thoughts in a safe space that harbors and promotes emotional intelligence and validation. It takes courage to actively work on yourself and to break away from the statement of “nothing changes, if nothing changes”. It would be my honor and privilege to join you as you undertake the next step to achieving a peaceful and whole sense of self.
In addition, I am bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English.
My Focus:
I work with adult individuals, adolescent individuals, couples, and families who are looking to overcome challenges with trauma, mood disorders, and life transitions. I use an integrative approach to treatment through a combination of techniques and modalities, including relational psychodynamic, Attachment theory, Cognitive behavioral theory as well as Gottman Therapy approach. However, because I work from a relational perspective, I believe that the most important factor in treatment is the therapeutic relationship between you and me.
