Meet Alicia
Alicia Steinmetz, MA, NCC
“Together we will discover the tools and positive coping skills needed in order to find your joy and authentic happiness in life.”
I believe therapy allows you to hold space for your emotions, thoughts, and sensations, allowing yourself to follow those different signals on your path to wholeness. I believe therapy can provide the opportunity to explore your path to healing and can serve as a reminder that you are not alone in this journey of life.
I use a therapeutic approach that ensures you are the expert in your own life. I work collaboratively with you to explore a variety of techniques and holistic approaches to create a safe space that incorporates your specific needs. I use a somatic approach through mindfulness practices to foster a mind-body connection, encouraging greater self-awareness between physical sensations and emotional well-being. I integrate creative therapies in my practice, including the use of art and music therapy to interpret and express emotions, promoting mood regulation and emotional resilience.
I utilize a Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) framework, working together with you to cope with the uncertainties of life, understand how past experiences shape our thoughts, and build trust to safely process traumatic experiences. Adhering to a person-centered approach ensures an emphatic and supportive environment without judgment for you to feel heard and understood.
Who I Work With:
I work with adolescents and adult individuals who are seeking support navigating depression, anxiety, life meaning and purpose, trauma, grief and loss and life transitions.
When supporting couples, I utilize the Gottman method to help partners explore healthy communication, increase intimacy, and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the dynamic.
I aim to support you in cultivating your purpose and meaning in life through examining your unique worldview and learning your story, whether individually or through maintaining relationships. Together we will discover the tools and positive coping skills needed in order to find your joy and authentic happiness in life.
My rate per 50 minute session is $120.00
